You know it's time to address your acne when...

...your eight-year-old piano student walks through the door and exclaims, "Oh, you have chicken pox!"

Yes, that happened to me today. From the mouths of babes! So, I've been trying ProActiv for a couple of weeks, but I've been inconsistent with it, so it's been making things worse instead of better. It's really frustrating. It's worse now than when I was a teenager. I hate acne. :-(

I'm having a break-out, too! There seems to be nothing i can do about it. Must be anxiety/ stress. Yuck!

    oh ellie! that's awful!!
I struggle with acne too, it's such a persistent bother (but I"m in high school so I guess it's ok for me)

It's not like you haven't been trying. I know you've done a lot to try to improve it. Don't be discoraged. I think you're beautiful.

As you probably know, I've been struggling with acne for as long as we've known each other (longer actually). Over the years, I've tried just about everything, but nothing has worked very well. I even came about *this* close to trying prescription treatments, but they sounded worse than just living with the acne (plus the dermatologist was totally rude and dismissive of me). That was when I decided to try ProActiv. I had my best results initially, when using it regularly. It never completely worked, but it did reduce the really bad, painful acne. The sulfur-based mask cream they give you as a "free gift" in your first box is the best stuff, but I can't use it more than 2-3 times a week or my skin becomes resistant to it.

Anyway, I've been using ProActiv for over 8 years now, and it has never gotten rid of my acne, but it's worked better than anything else I've tried.

    Good luck to you!

I bit the bullet 3 years ago and did the 5 month treatment of accutane (prescription) ...

My only regret? That I didn't do it sooner. It's a difficult medicine (a depresant and it makes you achy) but man o man o man o man the results are spectacular.

I'm in my 40s and FINALLY love my skin! 5 months of glooms for 50 years of great skin seems like a good investment to me :~) Not only do I no longer carry concealer, I don't even wear foundation anymore ~ just a smear of lotion morning and night!!
